Campbells Consultancy O.H.S. & R. Pty Ltd is a consultancy provider in the Occupational Health and Safety field, supplying a range of services to both public and government organisations.
Noel commenced his career in Occupational Health and Safety in 1983, at the announcement of the first NSW OH&S Act. Apart from the credentials shown above, he has also completed short courses such as Investigation Methods (Uni of Canberra), Laboratory Safety (ANSTO), and Noise (Uni of Sydney). He followed up with his Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Uni of Newcastle).
Since 1983, he has been responsible for OH&S in a variety of work situations including, printing, warehousing, information technology, clothing manufacturing, technical services and until recently the NSW
Dept of Agriculture.
As Manager, OH&S for the Department, he was responsible for all OH&S training, including the setting up of OH&S Committees across the state, (19 in number). During this period he created relevant policies, conducted the investigation of all major accidents and provided professional advice to all areas and levels of the organisation.
The various areas in which he became involved within these organisations is too large to list, but some that come to mind are –
Maintenance workshops, laboratories, farm machinery, livestock, animal handling, emergency training, hazardous waste, plant greenhouses, fruit picking, ergonomics, manual handling, pesticides storage and use, hazardous substances, flammable liquids, cotton production, animal and plant quarantine, salvage diving, boat safety, office safety, confined space operations and quarantine of plant and animals.
He has been responsible for the co-ordination of OH&S training and auditing statewide for the Dept of Agriculture. This required the provision of training to major sites a number of times per year, as well as the inspection of each site annually. The Department at the time had 18 research stations (30 to 200 staff at each site), approximately 50 advisory offices (2 to 25 staff at each site), 20 one-man border crossings and Head Office (300+ staff).
After bidding farewell to the Department of Agriculture some four years ago, Noel has been self-employed as an OH&S Consultant and Trainer. During this time he has provided services to a vast range of organisations including vineyards, hotels, clubs, engineering companies, mines, builders, farmers plus several other types of business.
Noel has the experience, both as an OHS professional and trainer, directly responsible for meeting the legislative requirements of his employers. As a trainer, Noel has the rare ability to be able to answer those awkward questions other trainers sometimes find difficult.
