COOK PARK was established in 1873, with it's first magnificent trees planted in 1880. It was officially named 'Cook' Park in 1882 - in honour of Captain Cook.
It is a beautiful restful place for a picnic with it's fountains, rotunda, aviary, begonia house, Fernery, duck pond and numerous walkways.
4.5 hectares of Parkland, Summer Street, Orange.
Within Cook Park the 1887 Caretaker's lodge - Bastick Cottage - is occupied by the Park Guildry to display Arts & Crafts of the district.

ROBERTSON PARK - right in the centre of Orange is planted with exotic and native trees. It is located on the original site of 'Blackmans Swamp' and has existed since 1882.
You will find within the Park - the Whitney Fountain (1896), the Bandstand (1913), the Cenotaph (1952), the CWA Hall (1902) and a number of memorials .

ORANGE BOTANIC GARDENS - opened in 1988 for the Australian Bicentenary. There are Native and exotic plantings with a 'Country Walk' through varying landscapes - the original homestead garden, the billabong, exotic and indigenous woodlands, the heritage orchard with historic apple varieties, heritage rose garden and a human involvement sundial.
20 hectare site - Yellow Box Way, Orange.
Alongside The Botanic Gardens is The ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND - a safe and fun delight for children.
Bloomfield is 21 hectares of beautiful parkland with both native and exotic trees. There is a pedestrian/cycle path and this links to Huntley Road and Gosling Creek Reserve. Bloomfield has areas where dogs can run free.
Gosling Creek Reserve - the reservoir opened in 1890 and was Orange's first significant water supply - prior to Lake Canobolas and Spring Creek. Now an evironmental recreation reserve and wetland with walking, cycling pathways, a picnic area, children's play area, a bird hide and trout and golden perch in the reservoir for those who enjoy fishing.
Public amenities are in the Reserve.
