This can be in monetary donations, giving of time or goods or supporting events and fundraisers for the Orange Ronald McDonald House.
Another way in which you can help is by organising and carrying out an event. There have been several groups who have to date run fun events as fundraisers for the Orange Ronald McDonald House.
Already there is quite a lot community support but we still have a long way to go. To make it happen more support is needed to help this grow .
If you feel that you can help in anyway, we would love to hear from you.
Services clubs, the building industry, the medical fraternity and local media have all pledged their support.

You may be asking now what can we do, as fellow human beings, to help families who are thrown head-first into one of life’s most traumatic events?
Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia supports the establishment of a Ronald McDonald House in Orange.
The Aim is to raise 1.5 million dollars to build the house
Orange Base Hospital is the major referral hospital for the Greater Mid Western Area of NSW which covers a third of the State from Bathurst to Broken Hill.
The Hospital provides a wide range of services.
BUT....
There is a critical shortage of emergency and long-term accommodation for the families of children seeking treatment at Orange Base.
There have been numerous instances where families have been forced to sleep in their car so they can stay close to their child.
Last year 1,000 (1,000) families were turned away.
We all can make an enormous difference by helping to raise funds to build the Ronald McDonald House in Orange.
This house will service the Greater Central West and provide that much needed support and accommodation for sick children and their families.
...Ronald McDonald House Central West – Orange is seeking your support..
WHY? AN ORANGE - 'RONALD McDONALD HOUSE
Most of us will be fortunate enough to go through life without facing the awesome tragedy of being told that our child has a serious illness.
Most of us won’t have to endure the major life changes that such an experience brings.
Life changes such as being separated from your child at a time when he or she needs you the most; enduring a feeling of helplessness because you can’t take the pain and the illness away- the way that you do when your child has fallen over or has a cold.
You’ll wonder how on earth you are going to care for other family members; and you’ll wonder whether you can still keep working and be there for your precious child.
These sorts of problems are compounded even further if you happen to live in the country and your child needs to spend weeks, or months, at a time receiving treatment at a hospital.
As mentioned above, Orange Base Hospital is the major referral hospital for the Greater Mid Western Area of NSW.
One of the services provided at Orange Base Hospital is a regional tertiary referral service for children and young people aged 0-16 years- admitting on average 1300 children per year.
Of those 1300 children, 60 percent come from outside the Orange postcode.
The Orange Base Hospital children’s ward currently has 15 beds, four of which are for children and adolescents with mental health issues.
Facilities for parents in the children’s ward are currently a recliner chair beside their child, one shower that is also used by the sick children, and one toilet out in the corridor, which is used by the general public when visiting patients.
There are no cooking facilities but there is a microwave and a separate room for parents to make a hot drink, there is also a communal lounge area. This room doubles as a family conference room for the children’s and female medical ward.
There is a critical shortage of emergency and long-term accommodation for the families of children seeking treatment at Orange Base.
Another service with minimal facilities for parents is the Maternity Ward. Where parents can have babies in the special care nursery.
Currently parents who live outside Orange whose baby requires long term treatment are given the opportunity of a ward bed and considered as boarders.
Alternatively they find their own accommodation.
HOW IT WILL BE - For Families - WHEN WE HAVE 'A Ronald McDonald House'
ALSO
The cost of petrol is an added burden when there are long distances to travel.
3 to 5 families are being turned away because there is no room in Sydney Ronald McDonald houses.
People in the lower socioeconomic status are finding it very difficult paying for accommodation.
There are plans for a new hospital for Orange, to be built in the grounds of Bloomfield, with work to commence in 2007.
These plans include the expansion of child and adolescent mental health in-patient services.
Currently the paediatric ward has four beds for these young people but this will expand to 10 stand-alone beds plus a rehabilitation service where young people come each day to learn living skills and school readiness.
When we have the Ronald McDonald House a sister from Westmead will be appointed.
A Learning programme is already in the process of being set up.
Canobolas Hotel is presently supplying temporary accommodation until the Ronald McDonald House is built.
The Ronald McDonald House will service the Greater Central West and provide that much needed support and accommodation for sick children and their families.
Many people have & are coming on board with this project, but there is still a long way to go.
Your passion and drive is still needed to ensure that we have the Ronald McDonald House up and helping families, at the earliest possible date.
It is based on this demand and the support demonstrated by the Orange community, that Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia supports the establishment of a Ronald McDonald House in Orange.
The proposed house will be built adjacent to the new hospital.
While the final design for the Ronald McDonald House in Orange is some way off being finalised, the early indications are it would include long stay rooms suitable for families from areas further outside Orange and a day stay area suitable for families in and around Orange.
